ABOUT AZDARYN & THE QUILTS
Azdaryn is a social enterprise preserving a 500-year-old Bengali embroidery tradition
called Nakshi Kantha.
We turn this ancient art into personalised heirloom quilts – made to order, reducing gift
waste, and providing fair hourly income for women artisans in Bangladesh.
When you choose Azdaryn, your gift carries a story of love and livelihood in every stitch.
Nakshi Kantha is a traditional “story quilt” from Bengal. Layers of cloth are held together
with thousands of tiny running stitches and decorated with motifs like flowers, vines, birds,
sun and moon – each with its own meaning. We honour this 500-year-old tradition in designs
that suit modern homes.
All Azdaryn quilts are made from 100% cotton fabric and cotton thread. They are soft,
breathable and hypoallergenic, so they are gentle on sensitive skin and safe for everyday
use.
Yes. Our quilts are cotton and hypoallergenic, with no harsh synthetics. Use them as you
would any quality baby or child quilt – always following safe sleep guidelines in your country.
CUSTOM VS READY-MADE
A Custom Story Quilt is designed from scratch for your person: you choose layout, size
and colours, then we design motifs and wording with you.
A Ready-Made Story Quilt is a finished, one-of-a-kind quilt we already have in stock; you
choose the exact piece from photos and we add your name, date and short line (plus motifs
where there is space).
Choose Custom for big, planned-ahead milestones (weddings, new babies, big
birthdays) where you want maximum personalisation.
Choose Ready-Made when you’ve found us closer to the date, want faster timing, and like
seeing the exact quilt first.
PERSONALISATION & DESIGN
It’s simple:
1. Choose a quilt – Custom or Ready-Made, plus size and colours on the website.
2. Choose your motifs & words – we send you our Motif & Personalisation Guide so
you can pick 1–3 motifs, a name, date and one short line.
3. Approve your digital sketch – we send a sketch showing where everything will go.
Once you approve it, we start stitching.

situation (love, family, new baby, strength, celebration), then pick 1–3 motifs plus your
name/date/line. Just reply with your choices and we turn them into your sketch.

Yes. The guide includes wording ideas for different occasions (babies, weddings,
parents, birthdays, new chapters, sympathy, etc.). If you’re still unsure, tell us a bit about the
person and we’ll suggest 1–2 short, meaningful lines you can choose from.
Yes. Each motif has a simple meaning (for example: Tree of Life for family, Lotus for love,
Peacock for joy, Compass for guidance). You can choose from our suggestions or ask us to
recommend a combination that suits your story
You can adjust your wording and motifs up until you approve the digital sketch. After
you approve it and stitching has begun, changes may not be possible. But let us know we
will try.
TIMING & DELIVERY
After you approve your digital sketch:

Allow about 1 week for stitching and careful quality checks.

Allow about 2 weeks for stitching and careful quality checks.
● Ready-Made Story Quilts (from stock)
The quilt is already stitched; we add your words and usually deliver it to your home
within about 1 week.
Every order is sent with a tracking number – Australia orders use Australia Post tracking,
and international orders use trusted couriers with full tracking.
We never sacrifice quality for speed, so if your date is close, please contact us before
ordering and we’ll confirm what’s realistic.
Yes. We can deliver Azdaryn quilts all over the world.
● Australia – delivery is free on all quilts.
● Rest of world – shipping is available; costs and timeframes depend on your country
and will be shown or confirmed at checkout / by email.
Yes. At checkout you can enter the recipient’s address and add a gift message. We’ll
wrap the quilt, include your note and an artisan story card, and send it directly to them.
GUARANTEES, RETURNS & CRAFTSMANSHIP CARE
We want your quilt to be loved. If you don’t love it when it arrives, you have 30 days to
contact us for a money-back refund. We’ll send simple return instructions. (The quilt must
be in a clean, unused condition.)
Yes. Even though each quilt is personalised, we still stand behind it. If you don’t love it
within 30 days of receiving it, reach out and we’ll organise a return and refund.
Every quilt is covered by 365-days craftsmanship care. If any stitching or construction
problem appears in normal use within the first year – for example, a seam comes loose or
stitching comes undone – we will repair or replace the quilt at our cost. Just contact us
with photos and details
If your quilt is damaged in transit or doesn’t match the approved digital sketch, we will fix
it – by repairing, re-making, or refunding, depending on the situation. Please contact us
within 7 days of receiving it.
CARE & PRACTICAL USE
Treat it like a special but practical cotton quilt:
● Gentle cold machine wash or hand wash
● Mild detergent
● Line-dry in the shade or low tumble dry
Avoid bleach and very harsh chemicals. We include simple care instructions with every qui
Normal washing and regular sun exposure are fine. To keep colours bright for years, use
mild detergent and avoid leaving the quilt in strong direct sun for very long periods
Our quilts are designed to be used and enjoyed every day – on beds, couches, nursing
chairs, as a shawl, wall hanging and picnics – and then passed down. They are
heirloom-style pieces, but not “too precious to touch”.
SOCIAL IMPACT & ETHICS
Our quilts are hand-stitched by small teams of women artisans in Bangladesh. We pay
fair hourly rates for their time and skill so they can earn stable income in safe conditions,
alongside family and community life.
Each quilt:

Yes. Send us a message with who the gift is for, the occasion and any room photos or
colour preferences. We’ll recommend a design, size and colour palette that fits – think of us
as your “gift quilt stylist”.
